Today the new Nispy album, A Unilateral Oops hit internet shelves hot off the mixing board and into the hearts and minds of all the people. This album represents the combined efforts of the Nispypudlians across 10 years of spacetime. It is truly our finest hour. Yosh recorded some bassiness from the far away land of Romania. Jim came out of his woodwork to lay down a phat guitar solo. Even long lost estranged drummer Ryan weighed in on the album cover ideas (and rumors persist that he will assist in some bonus content in the future too!). The album isn't perfect, but what is? While it would have been nice to have everyone on every track on their respective instruments, some things just aren't practical given the escalating busification of our daily lives. But let's forget what the album isn't and focus on what it is: Tremendous. If you haven't already, give it a listen today! The tracks are totally free -- Because Nispy Loves you!
Slappy writes: Dear Idiot, I demand mention in a future issue because I located long missing Nispy fan Vic! It turns out he'd been kidnapped my midgets and forced to watch clown porn on a local childrens community access channel that is only on air from 3:45 AM to 5:51 AM every other Tuesday. Since his rescue, he has enjoyed mopping the floors at the local Walmart on the night shift using his favorite mop. The End
Well Slappy, you've been mentioned! Now listen to the new album a few thousand more times. -EdMo
"dave" writes: Hi. First off, big fan. Long time listener, first time reader. My question is, have you thought about a concept album release along the lines of Rush's "2112". I have been waiting about 30 years for such a release by any band, but namely Nispy. Please advise.
Since Pierre is the resident Rush fan, I've tasked him with answering this question:
Thanks for the question. We've tried working on concept albums before, but nothing like 2112. Unfortunately my idea for 5775, a concept loosely based off 2112 but written in alternating 5/8 and 7/8 time was rejected by every other member of the band, including their families, significant others, and their significant others' families. I will say though that we have written several songs, especially Day of the Moron pt.4 (written a couple of years before this current batch of songs) which are in a similar vein, which may make past the demo stages at some point... though realistically we might do a concept album but more theme based, as opposed to sprawling melodies, time signatures, and what happens when the priests don't want you to have guitar. -Pierre
Welp, that's it for the letters this issue, send us more or we won't print them!
